A Thousand Things, by Rosalie Smith

A thousand things, nay three
Are not enough to capture thee
I see you in the paths not tread
And those tread for eternity.

I see you in the mountain air
The places in the forest where
No human foot has been
Only those of fox and hare.

You live within the flowers
Amongst which I walk for hours
You live in the blithe oak sapling
And in the fir that towers.

And each day that I see you
You remind me what is true
For each day that I love you
I fall in love with you anew.
